WALTHAM, MASSACHUSETTS: Nov 12, 2003 - Xpedient Corporation today upgraded "Redefine Style Sheet" to version 2.0.
Xpedient's (http://www.xpedient.com) Redefine Style Sheet unleashes the power of style sheets. Without Redefine Style Sheet, the maintance of style sheets is a time-consuming process that many professionals dread. With Redefine Style Sheet you simply DEFINE and REDEFINE style sheets based on any selected text in your document. Designers, students, experts, beginners, and employers will appreciate the software for the time and trouble that it saves.
There is no need to wade through layers of dialogs or repeatedly apply styles by hand. Start using style sheets the Xpedient way, and see how much time you can save using industrial-strength style management. The company will provide tech support for style sheets as well as their XTension.
New features: A new palette provides fields for displaying and adjusting the Paragraph and the Character Style Sheets. A context-sensitive button shows different functions: Define, Redefine, Apply, Rename, and Option-Redefine.
BACKGROUND: Style Sheets control typographic details. They establish consistency because you can quickly apply identical settings repeatedly. You also get retroactive control -- you can change your mind -- as you redefine your Style Sheets, the whole document conforms to your new formats. Style Sheets are present in most word processors as well as all the typesetting programs. Without Redefine Style Sheet, the mechanics of creating, adjusting, and managing QuarkXPress style sheets is a chore that many professional users postpone or avoid, so they end up with documents full of style sheets that aren't up to date, therefore are not usable.
Amy Rothstein, who has over twelve years of typesetting and page production experience, designed the XTension for her own use, and Daniel Melnechuk, who has over twenty-two years of experience in both software and hardware engineering, wrote the software. Rothstein tends a web site of tips and links for QuarkXPress users, the XPresso Bar (http://www.xpressobar.com).
"...for a small cost, Redefine Style Sheet performs a task almost any XPress user will find valuable." -- David Blatner, MacWorld, June 2000
REQUIREMENTS: Mac OS 8.6 or later
